Rabbit in a Hat 🐰🎩: ThinkMarkets
By Ekaterina Ovechkina
Welcome back to the Forex/CFD Industry Employers Review series. This article is not an advertisement and not a paid endorsement – it’s an independent look at ThinkMarkets as an employer.
As always, the goal is to build an honest, practical database of Forex/CFD industry employers using open sources, with priority given to LinkedIn and Glassdoor – and the company’s official pages when relevant.
Who is ThinkMarkets

ThinkMarkets is a multi-asset online brokerage best known for CFD trading and its proprietary platform ThinkTrader. Public sources describe the company as founded in 2010 and operating globally across regions including Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.
In terms of positioning, it appears primarily B2C (retail), with technology and platform development as a key theme in its public communications (e.g., ThinkTrader). On regulation, ThinkMarkets states it is licensed and regulated by bodies including the FCA and ASIC (and others depending on entity.
Notable milestones visible in public sources include:

- 2010: Company established (as described in multiple public profiles).
- Rebrand from ThinkForex to ThinkMarkets and launch of ThinkTrader (reported by industry media).
- June 2022: ThinkTrader for Web was first introduced (reported by Finance Magnates).
- May 2023: Announcement of a proposed business combination with FG Acquisition Corp. to pursue a listing route (reported by FX News Group).
- May 2024: ThinkMarkets participated in an investment round (PitchBook notes an Early Stage VC deal involving Crossover Markets Group).
- Awards: ThinkMarkets reports ThinkTrader received “Best Trading App” recognition from CompareForexBrokers.com.

Reputation-wise, ThinkMarkets is typically positioned publicly as a global, regulation-forward broker investing in proprietary trading technology, with a footprint spanning multiple offices and regions.
What’s inside the Careers experience
ThinkMarkets does have a dedicated Careers page, and it’s accessible via the site footer: https://www.thinkmarkets.com/en/careers/.
The page is in English and it’s actually convenient to use: you can browse specific open roles, use search, and apply filters to narrow vacancies.
At the same time, the total number of openings doesn’t look very large (roughly up to 20 roles), so if you want to track new opportunities, it still makes sense to monitor alternative channels as well (including LinkedIn Jobs) - sometimes vacancies may appear there faster or be published more broadly.
ThinkMarkets highlights a clear, candidate-friendly set of benefits on its Careers page, with a strong emphasis on flexibility and development: flexible working hours, career growth opportunities across multiple departments globally, access to state-of-the-art technology, and continuous learning in an innovation-led environment. In the “What we offer” section, they also list practical core perks such as a flexible leave plan with generous time off, encouragement and support for internal mobility between teams or departments, modern equipment (latest tech for day-to-day work), and premium insurance including health and wellness incentives, reimbursements, and assistance programs across various healthcare services.

The hiring process is presented as a straightforward three-step flow: Apply (submit your CV, include a cover letter, and complete pre-screening questions), Test (receive a role-specific task once there is mutual fit), and Interview (an in-person meeting after successfully passing the test to discuss the role and employment journey in detail).

But let’s not stop there! We’ve uncovered the secret behind ThinkMarkets’ magical allure on LinkedIn!

Website: https://www.thinkmarkets.com/en/
Headquarters (as shown): Chicago, IL
Company size: typically presented as 201–500 employees on page (200)
Offices/locations mentioned: London (70 St Mary Axe) and Melbourne are shown on the LinkedIn location listings
ThinkMarkets’ LinkedIn footprint signals a globally distributed business, with location markers spanning major hubs. Content appears primarily in English, which helps with international reach (especially important for multi-region hiring).
From an employer-brand perspective, LinkedIn is typically where candidates will look first for culture signals, leadership presence, and hiring activity. If ThinkMarkets wants to attract talent across Europe, APAC, Africa, and MENA, the consistency of culture storytelling matters as much as role posting.

LinkedIn strengths
- Clear company presence with meaningful follower base, supporting visibility.
- Global footprint is visible via locations shown on LinkedIn.
- English-first communication supports cross-border recruiting.
LinkedIn missed opportunities
- A stronger “Life” narrative (employee spotlights, team rituals, internal mobility stories).
- More consistent people-focused posts (not only products/industry updates).
- Clearer recruiting journeys: how hiring works, what teams look like in different hubs.
- More localized content streams for key regions (without fragmenting the main brand).
Glassdoor

Number of reviews 117
Rating on the site 3,9/5,0
Recommend to a friend: 67%
A cluster of the most recent 5-star reviews (Jan 2026) consistently highlights a professional, collaborative culture, described as supportive and “politics-free”, with approachable colleagues and leadership, and a general sense that the company values teamwork, transparency, mutual respect, and growth. One reviewer also specifically notes a smooth interview process and a well-organised onboarding experience, with clear expectations and early support.
On the improvement side, even positive reviews mention process slowness at times due to compliance/regulatory requirements and call out information flow and alignment gaps between teams/regions, suggesting coordination and communication can still be strengthened.
At the same time, at least one recent negative review (Dec 2025, Sofia) flags serious risks: “complete chaos,” poor management, toxicity, and overtime. This indicates the employee experience may vary significantly by office, team, or manager, and it’s worth validating team-specific conditions during interviews.
Suggestions for Improvement (Employer actions)
Based on typical mixed-review patterns seen in broker/fintech environments and the need for clearer signals:
- Publish clearer career pathways and promotion criteria per function.
- Standardize onboarding quality across offices.
- Strengthen internal communication cadence (company updates, decision context).
- Improve manager enablement (training for people leadership in fast-growth teams).
- Encourage location-specific culture storytelling to reduce expectation gaps.
Overall, the updated picture is: strong recent sentiment around culture and support, plus recurring signals around cross-team communication/process maturity, and a minority of sharp warnings about management quality and workload in specific contexts.
